Steve Rachmad is a Dutch techno producer, DJ, and remixer. He began his musical journey at the age of 12 by purchasing his first records to mix, remix, and cut-and-paste their parts using an open reel tape deck. His first release came in the mid-1980s, including a project for hip-house/dance artist Tony Scott. Inspired by 1980s dance and electro music, as well as the works of former Time members Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, The System, and Arthur Baker, Steve's passion for music led him to start DJing at the age of 15 with a disco set in a small Amsterdam club. His dedication to music prompted him to invest in equipment, ultimately resulting in the establishment of a professional studio. He began his collection in 1985 with a TR-808, and a year later, he was introduced to house music, drawn to the emerging sounds from Detroit and Chicago. Steve has released music on various labels, including 100% Pure, Cocoon, Underwater, Fragile, M-Plant, Tresor, Sino, Delsin, Music Man, and Artless. Additionally, he worked part-time at Outland Records in Amsterdam.
