Stiff Little Fingers is a Northern Irish punk band formed around 1977, originally consisting of Jake Burns, Ali McMordie, Henry Cluney, and Brian Faloon. They recorded their first LP, "Inflammable Material," which featured signature songs such as "Alternative Ulster," "Suspect Device," and "Wasted Life," along with a reworking of Bob Marley's "Johnny Was." In 1979, the band relocated to London, where they replaced drummer Brian Faloon with Jim Reilly. They then released the LP "Nobody's Heroes" for Chrysalis, which had a more pop-oriented sound but continued to explore similar themes. The album included a cover of The Specials' "Doesn't Make It Alright," though it was less successful than "Johnny Was." This was followed by the live LP "Hanx" and the power pop albums "Go For It" and "Now Then," featuring new drummer Dolphin Taylor. However, these releases did not satisfy their fanbase, leading the band to disband in 1983. In 1987, Burns reformed the band with McMordie, Cluney, and Taylor. When McMordie left in 1990, Bruce Foxton, formerly of another band, replaced him on bass, but McMordie rejoined in 2006.
