The Stills-Young Band was a musical collaboration between Stephen Stills and Neil Young, both of whom had previously worked together in Buffalo Springfield and Crosby, Stills, Nash And Young. This brief association began in 1975 when Young made several impromptu appearances during Stills' promotional tour. They released an album featuring Stills' regular band members: Jerry Aeillo (keyboards), George Perry (bass), Joe Vitale (drums/flute), and Joe Lala (percussion). Although initial recording sessions included contributions from David Crosby and Graham Nash, their parts were later removed, leading to tension among the four musicians. A planned reunion did not materialize, and Crosby and Nash returned to their duet recordings. The album, titled "Long May You Run," included several notable songs such as the title track and "Black Coral," but it was criticized for its lack of cohesion and was generally considered a disappointment.
