**Bio: Stock, Hausen & Walkman** Stock, Hausen & Walkman was formed in the late '80s and existed until 2001. The group was a pun on pioneering electronic composer Karlheinz Stockhausen, the '80s pop production team Stock, Aitken & Waterman, and the Sony Walkman. Initially an experimental/improv duo, it consisted of Matt Wand, who named the band, and guitarist Rex Casswell. Over time, cellist Dan Weaver, drummer Richard Harrison, Andrew Sharpley, and others contributed to live performances and studio recordings. The group played at Company Week at Derek Bailey's request in 1990 and gained recognition for their albums "Organ Transplants vol. 1 & 2," conceived and designed by Wand with musical contributions from Sharpley after Casswell moved to Denmark and Weaver took time off for dance and theatre performances. Wand also established Hot Air Records to release their music and a variety of albums by other artists during that decade. Although the project concluded in 2001, Wand continues to release archive material under the Stock, Hausen & Walkman name. The current lineup includes Matt Wand, Andrew Sharpley, and Daniel Weaver, known for their sample-heavy, subversively humorous collages that critique both high art and low pop music.
