Stone Axe was a brief but notable American blues and hard rock band based in Houston, Texas, active from 1971 to 1972. Following the last performance of Josefus in December 1970, J. C. "Pete" Bailey (vocals) and Ray Turner (bass) joined forces with "Wolf" Mike Long (lead guitar) and Jerry Ontiberoz (drums) to create Stone Axe. The band had a short lifespan, releasing only one single in 1971, which was pressed in 500 copies, before disbanding shortly thereafter.
