Style Sindrome is an Italian band that formed in Rome in 1980, drawing inspiration from the new wave and post-punk music scene of the UK, influenced by iconic bands such as Joy Division, The Cure, and Siouxsie and the Banshees. The band members Anna and Stefano previously played in TM Spa, a rock band that won the First Italian Rock Festival in 1980, while Giorgio was part of Electroshock, a notable Italian rock band from the late '70s. With the addition of Massimo and Raimondo, the band solidified its final lineup. Style Sindrome's music features a unique blend of dark sensibility and psychedelia, creating an evocative sound that fosters a rarefied atmosphere. They self-produced several demo tapes in 1981 and 1982, and in 1982, RAI produced a music video for them for the show “Mister Fantasy.” Later that year, they contributed the track "Waving in the Dark" to the compilation "Gathered," released by Rockerilla and Electric Eye Record. The album "Gathered" was re-issued on CD by Spittle Records in 2007 and was recognized by Italian Rolling Stone Magazine in 2012 as one of the 100 most beautiful Italian records ever.
