DJ Subroc (1973-1993) was a hip hop artist from New York City and a member of the group Constipated Monkeys. He initially formed the group KMD with his brother and Jade 1, who would later be known as Onyx The Birthstone Kid. His first release was an album on Elektra Records in 1991. Although production is credited to KMD or others, he produced all tracks under the group name KMD, as he was not an adult at the time of the album's release. After producing for various artists, he tragically died in 1993 after being hit by a car. His death halted the production of the album and marked the end of KMD, although 'Bl_ck B_st_rds' was later released. Many tracks believed to be produced by MF DOOM are actually the work of DJ Subroc, including instrumental pieces like 'Peach Extract', 'Hands Of Doom', 'Rain Blood', 'Hoe Cakes', and 'Scientific Civilization'.
