Sugar Creek was a US blues-rock and psychedelic band from Boston, MA, active from 1967 to 1971. The band was formed by brothers Malcolm and Tod McKinney, along with vocalist John (Jonathan) Edwards and bassist Gary Gans. Initially, they were known as The Infinite Doorknob, later changing their name to Headstone Circus. After being introduced to producer Peter Casperson, they changed their name to Sugar Creek. Casperson helped them secure a deal with Metromedia Records, which released their album in 1969. While the album did not achieve national chart success, it was well-received locally. The group disbanded in 1971, with Jonathan Edwards pursuing a successful solo career, notably achieving national recognition with his protest song "Sunshine," which reached #4 on the Billboard chart in 1971.
