Yūne "Sugizo" Sugihara, born on July 8, 1969, in Hadano, Japan, is a talented guitarist, violinist, singer-songwriter, and producer. He debuted in 1989 with the band Luna Sea. After Luna Sea went on a break from 1997 to 1998, Sugizo launched his solo project and established independent labels to support other artists and bands. Following the disbandment of Luna Sea in December 2000, Sugizo focused primarily on his solo career and participated in several session projects including SHAG, S.T.K., and Sugizo & The Spank Your Juice. From 2004 to 2006, he was a member of the band The Flare. After The Flare disbanded, Sugizo revitalized his solo project, opened a new label, and joined an English project. He has also been a member of the Japanese supergroup S.K.I.N. since December 2006. In 2008, Sugizo began working as a session guitarist for another band and officially became a member in May 2009. In 2010, LUNA SEA announced their complete revival during a press conference in Hong Kong.
