Sun Dawei is a prominent Chinese electronic musician and guitarist known for his active contributions to the music scene. He began playing guitar at the age of fourteen and formed a punk band, which ignited his passion for music. After relocating to Beijing in 1999, he delved into the realms of electronic music and became the music arranger and guitarist for the legendary Chinese punk band "Underground Baby." In 2003, he released his first formal experimental electronic music album titled "Air Inhibition Of Water" under the name Sulumi with the renowned Chinese record label Modern Sky. This marked the beginning of his journey in creating innovative music. Sun Dawei also established his personal music label, "Shanshui Records," through which he published numerous electronic music records over the next decade, collaborating with both domestic and international electronic musicians to promote the Chinese electronic music revolution. He later explored the Chiptune style, utilizing Game Boy and Nanoloop music software, earning the title of "China's 8bit first person." His music gained significant popularity, leading to an invitation to perform at the "Blip Festival" in New York in 2008. His work during this period matured, showcasing the essence of Chiptune music, and his album "The Heaven" marked a pivotal point in his career.
