**Bio: Sunni Nash** Sunny Nash began her music career at the age of 15 after winning the Miss Texas High Contest in 1965, which earned her a scholarship from Houston’s KYOK radio celebrity, George Nelson. During the competition, she showcased her talent by singing a medley of the R&B hit "Every Little Bit Hurts" and the jazz standard "Misty." In the summer of 1966, Nelson booked her to perform jazz and blues live on KYOK broadcasts with the Conrad Johnson Orchestra at the El Dorado Ballroom and at Ray Barnett's Cinder Club with John Roberts and the Hurricanes. Throughout her early career, Nash shared stages with notable acts such as blue-eyed soul singer Roy Head and the R&B group Archie Bell & the Drells. After graduating high school in 1967, Nash was introduced to Abe Epstein Enterprises in San Antonio by KTSA radio celebrity Ricci Ware, where she auditioned as a studio musician, background vocalist, and recording artist. In 1968, her country blues recording "I Am Nothing Without You," written by Ricky "Güero Polkas" Davila, was released by Epstein. Dubbed “Miss Soulsational,” Nash became a Gulf Coast sensation, performing a mix of blues, country, and Tejano music. Returning to Houston in 1969, Nash worked in studios writing, arranging, and recording, while also performing in local nightclubs and on ABC's "Dialing for Dollars
