Super Boiro Band is recognized as Guinea's first orchestra from the independence era, formed in 1959. In the early 1960s, the group split into two formations. The first formation was nationalized in 1972 and renamed Super Boiro Band, with a prominent trumpet player leading the group. In the post-independence era, they became known as Super Flambeau.
