Superfine Dandelion was an American psychedelic rock band formed in 1967 in Phoenix, Arizona. The band consisted of Mike McFadden on vocals, harmonica, and guitar, Ed Black on lead guitar and piano, Rick Anderson on bass, and Mike Collins on drums. Influenced by notable acts such as Buffalo Springfield, the Lovin' Spoonful, Bob Dylan, and Jefferson Airplane, they gained recognition for their performances at venues like the Electric Cellar at J.D.s and the Fifth Estate in Scottsdale, Arizona. Initially releasing singles under the name Super-Fine Dandelion on the Rook label, the band signed with Mainstream Records in 1967, where they released two singles and their self-titled debut album. Unfortunately, the album did not chart, leading to the band's disbandment in 1968. During their brief career, they also backed Bill Haley on a pair of demos recorded in Phoenix, which remained unreleased for 30 years. Following the breakup, Ed Black and Mike McFadden continued their music careers with the Goose Creek Symphony and Linda Ronstadt, while Anderson became a founding member of the Tubes.
