Susumu Hirasawa, born on April 2, 1954, in Tokyo, is a prominent figure in the Japanese music scene. He formed the techno pop group P-MODEL in 1979, contributing significantly to the techno-pop and new wave movement in Japan. In 1989, Hirasawa began his solo career while still involved with P-MODEL, which is currently inactive. He is known for his innovative "Interactive Live Show," which features alternative stories influenced by audience reactions, akin to a role-playing-game concert. Hirasawa has composed music for TV documentaries, video animation soundtracks, and image albums for novels. He gained particular acclaim for his compositions for the anime series "BERSERK" in 1997 and the film "SENNEN JOYU" (Millennium Actress) in 2001. Currently, he is active as Susumu Hirasawa solo and as Kaku P-MODEL, a project that carries on the legacy of P-MODEL.
