Susumu Yakota was a Japanese techno and ambient composer, known primarily by the katakana version of his name: ススム・ヨコタ. He was born on April 22, 1960, in Toyama, Toyama Prefecture, Japan, and passed away on March 27, 2015, at the age of 54. Yokota gained recognition for his work across various styles within the electronic, ambient, and avant-garde music fields, and he also worked as a house and techno DJ in the earlier part of his career.
