Swamp Rats, also known as Bob Hocko and the Swamp Rats, is a garage rock group from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The band released several singles in 1966 and 1967, achieving regional success with their cover versions of popular songs. Their material is recognized as one of the earliest examples of proto-punk, leading to re-releases of their work. The group consists of members Bob Hocko, Dick Newton, Don Schreiner, David Gannon, Paul Shalako, and Joey Guido.
