Swizz Beatz, born Kasseem Dean on September 13, 1978, is an American record producer, rapper, DJ, and entrepreneur from New York City. Raised in The Bronx, he began his musical career as a DJ and gained recognition in the hip hop industry at the age of 16 through his association with East Coast rapper DMX and the Ruff Ryders Entertainment label. He later discovered Philadelphia rapper Cassidy, whose success helped him launch his own label, Full Surface Records, where he signed artists like Eve, Mashonda, and Bone Thugs-n-Harmony. Dean released two albums under his label: a compilation titled "Swizz Beatz Presents G.H.E.T.T.O. Stories" in 2002 and his debut studio album "One Man Band Man" in 2007. In November 2018, he released his second studio album, "Poison," featuring collaborations with various hip hop artists. Over his two-decade career, Dean has produced numerous hit singles across different genres, including "Ruff Ryders' Anthem" and "Party Up (Up in Here)" for DMX, "Gotta Man" for Eve, "Jigga My Nigga" and "Girl's Best Friend" for Jay-Z, and "Upgrade U," "Check on It," and "Ring the Alarm" for Beyoncé, among many others. He was named the first "Producer in Residence" at New York University for the 2010
