Sylvia Telles was a Brazilian jazz samba and bossa nova singer, born on August 27, 1934, in Rio de Janeiro. She became one of the first interpreters associated with Bossa Nova, recording numerous classics by renowned composers such as Tom Jobim and Vinicius De Moraes. Her career spanned from 1955 until her untimely death in a car accident on December 17, 1966, in Maricá, Brazil.
