Sylvie Vartan is a French pop singer of Bulgarian and Armenian origin, born on August 15, 1944, in Iskretz, Bulgaria. She was married to French rockstar Johnny Hallyday on April 12, 1965, in Loconville, and they divorced on November 4, 1980. Together, they had a son who also became a singer. Vartan and Hallyday were considered France's "Golden Couple" of their generation. In the 1960s, she achieved significant success in Italy and was recognized as the queen of "yé-yé." In 1984, she married an American actor and producer.
