Synthetisches Mischgewebe is an electronic, industrial, and avant-garde project that originated in the early 1980s in Berlin. They began with cassette releases and gained recognition through their first LP on the notable Madrid-based label Discos Esplendor Geometrico. The duo has since released CDs and vinyl on labels such as SFCR (France), Pinch-A-Loaf, and Povertech (USA). They have collaborated with various artists, including MSBR, Mnortham, Frans de Waard, Ios Smolders, Artificial Memory Trace, Thomasius, TBC, and The Oval Language. Synthetisches Mischgewebe has also contributed to numerous compilations, including a 2009 2CD release on Suitcase (USA). Additionally, several of their earlier cassette works have been reissued as limited edition vinyl pressings by the German label Vinyl On Demand.
