**T. P. Orchestre Poly-Rythmo Bio** T. P. Orchestre Poly-Rythmo is a renowned band hailing from Cotonou, Benin (formerly Dahomey). The name "T.P." stands for the French phrase "Tout Puissant," meaning "All Mighty." Originally founded in 1968 as Orchestre Poly-Disco, the band included original members Melome Clement (founder, vocals), Bentho Gustave (bass), and Bernard 'Papillon' Zoundegnon (guitar), among others. In search of a soul singer, Bentho and Papillon recruited Vincent Ahehehinnou from Daho Jazz, a band that struggled to find success. After a series of changes in producers and financiers, the group rebranded to Orchestre El Ritmo before finally settling on the name Orchestre Poly-Rythmo de Cotonou in 1969 after signing with a label owner. Over the next twelve years, the band enjoyed significant success with numerous records and triumphant tours. However, on May 28, 1978, Vincent Ahehehinnou left the group following disagreements with Adissa Seidou, who sought to marginalize the late Melome Clement. Vincent's protests led to threats against him, including voodoo rites. Despite a decline in notoriety during the 1980s, the band continued to perform, with various members coming and going over the years. T
