Taeko Onuki, born on November 28, 1953, in Suginami, Tokyo, Japan, is a singer and songwriter who has been active since the early 1970s. She was a member of the band Sugar Babe alongside Tatsuro Yamashita. In the mid-1970s, Onuki began her solo career, frequently collaborating with Ryuichi Sakamoto and other members of the Yellow Magic Orchestra. Notably, she appeared on Sakamoto's "No More Landmine" single in 2001, alongside David Sylvian. In 2010, she released the duo album "UTAU" and toured with Sakamoto.
