The Tafo Brothers, consisting of tabla maestro Altaf Hussain Tafo Khan and his brother Nisar Hussain on the accordion, are a notable musical duo in Pakistan. Often referred to simply as Tafo or by variations such as Taffoo, Tafoo, or Tafu, the name can denote either the brothers collectively or their band, which has included family members like Altaf Hussain's sons Tariq Tafu, Tanveer Tafu, and Sajjad Tafu. They gained recognition as the first rock group to release a full album in Lollywood, the Pakistani film industry based in Lahore. From 1970 onwards, the Tafo Brothers played a significant role in Lahore's vibrant music scene, providing incidental music and sonic variations for renowned director M. Ashraf, with whom they collaborated for over a decade, utilizing EMI's advanced recording studios in Lahore.
