Takeshi Terauchi, known for his work with Takeshi Terauchi and The Blue Jeans (also referred to as Terry and The Blue Jeans), is a prominent figure in Japanese rock music. The band was formed in 1962 during the rockabilly era, with early members including Hachiro Suzuki, Naoaki Hori, Kunimitsu Fuyuume, Osamu Arima, and Masayuki Hori. By 1964, the group transitioned into the surf beat genre, featuring members such as Kunihiko Kase, Masami Ichikawa, Shiro Ishibashi, Fumio Kudo, and Hachiro Suzuki. In 1966, they had the opportunity to serve as the opening act for The Beatles during their live performance in Japan. However, Kunihiko Kase left the band just before the event, expressing his desire to watch The Beatles from the audience. During this time, Takeshi Terauchi faced a demanding schedule that led to overwork, and he was also planning to leave the group for medical treatment prior to The Beatles' concert. In 1967, the band debuted in the Group Sounds (GS) era with new members George Tagawa, Kazuo Okamoto, Hiroshi Nishimura, Isao Asakura, Izumi Wada, and Ryuji Hoshi.
