Tako Toki is a Paris-based trio consisting of Etienne de la Sayette, Aurèle Gerin, and Nicolas Brémaud, known for their unique approach to music. Formed in 2023 after a chance encounter in a DIY store, they create original compositions using homemade instruments crafted from industrial scraps, recycled waste, and everyday objects. While the concept of DIY instrument making is not new, Tako Toki aims to stand out by producing music that nourishes both body and soul, moving away from the typical DIY instrument demos and the gritty sound often associated with "trash boys." Their work embodies a creative freshness and a playful enthusiasm, as they challenge themselves to make beautiful music from their handcrafted instruments. Emphasizing an ecological perspective, Tako Toki promotes an environmentally friendly approach with a light carbon footprint, all while humorously preparing for a world where they might continue to create music using unconventional materials.
