Talat Mahmood was an Indian vocalist, born on 24 February 1924 in Lucknow, former British India. He passed away on 9 May 1998 in Mumbai, India. Best known as "The King of Ghazals," he was one of India's foremost singing stars. A popular Bollywood playback singer and a somewhat lesser-known actor, Talat Mahmood dominated the Indian music industry for nearly four decades.
