Tamiko Jones, born on July 15th, 1943, in Kyle, West Virginia, began her career at the Flame Bar in Detroit in 1962. She gained national recognition after appearing on The Johnny Carson Show in 1964. Throughout her career, she recorded for various labels and, during the mid to late 1980s, was involved in radio station management. Additionally, she served as a trustee of the Grammy Foundation. Tamiko married in 1977.
