Tashi Wada Group, originally known as Tashi Wada with Yoshi Wada and Friends, is a collaborative ensemble formed in 2017 by American experimental musician Tashi Wada and his father, Yoshi Wada, a prominent Japanese electroacoustic composer and a key figure in the downtown New York underground scene. The duo has collaborated extensively since the mid-2000s, with Tashi assisting Yoshi on various projects, including translating liner notes and supervising production arrangements. Their performance collaboration began around 2010 during the 'Pipe Dreams' series in NYC, and they continued to rehearse and perform together, including at the (k-raa-k)³ Festival in Belgium. In May 2010, they recorded their first studio piece, "Reed Modulations," capturing a live take of their performance. In September 2017, Tashi invited Yoshi, his partner Julia Holter, and friends Corey Fogel and Cole MGN to record new compositions in Los Angeles. The resulting album was released a year later. The ensemble, now known as Tashi Wada Group, toured Europe in March-April 2019, followed by the release of a digital EP. They continued their EU/UK Fall tour in September 2019 and performed with a special guest in December 2019. Band members include Tashi Wada (Prophet synthesizer, bagpipes, audio generators, sirens, reed organ), Yoshi Wada (bagpipes
