Tatsuya Yoshida (b. January 9, 1961) is a renowned Japanese avant-garde, jazz, and experimental drummer, composer, producer, and sound engineer, recognized as a key figure in Japan's underground music scene. He is the founder of several innovative projects, including a rhythm section duo, the zeuhl band, a prog/fusion/polyrhythmic jazz trio, and the acapella vocal group. Yoshida also runs a label and an eponymous studio. Since the early 1980s, he has collaborated with many critically acclaimed Japanese bands and various units, showcasing his exceptional skills. Nicknamed "devil from the East," he is known for his raw energy and ability to play complex rhythmic structures with remarkable speed and precision. Yoshida has worked with numerous influential artists in the avant-garde music scene over the past four decades. He has been recognized by prominent figures, including those who invited him to perform with a seminal jazz/grindcore unit, significantly boosting his international recognition. A long-time collaborator with a controversial noise artist, Yoshida participated in early secret shows and contributed to various recordings, including thrash noisecore albums and mastering several releases. His work includes participation in one of the band's few documented early performances, showcasing his versatility and commitment to experimental music.
