Teardrops was a musical group formed in Cincinnati, Ohio, in 1961 by two 14-year-old music enthusiasts, Dorothy Dyer and Linda Schroeder. Their journey began when they were encouraged to create a singing group after being heard performing from the audience at a concert in a teen nightclub. They later recruited Pat Strunk, a friend from Hughes High School, to join them as the third voice. Dorothy named the group Teardrops, and the trio quickly became active in local teen venues during 1962-63. They caught the attention of a musician/arranger, who introduced them to a songwriter. In 1964, they signed with Bud and Paul's Saxony Records and soon added a fourth member, Wanda Sheriff, to the group.
