Tease is an R&B/Funk band that originated from a series of groups formed in Los Angeles between 1976 and 1979. After a hiatus, the band reunited to participate in a talent contest organized by a local radio station. Ollie E. Brown, one of the judges, took an interest in the group and signed them to Brown Sugar Productions. With a revamped repertoire and a new identity as "Tease," Brown showcased the band to various record labels. By November 1982, Tease secured a recording contract with RCA. The group members included Chuckii Booker (keyboards) from 1986 to 1988, Cornelius Mims (bass) from 1979 to 1986, Derek Organ (drums) from 1979 to 1988, Jay Shanklin (bass) from 1986 to 1988, Josef Parson (guitar) from 1979 to 1986, Kipper Jones (lead vocals) from 1979 to 1988, Rex Salas (keyboards) from 1979 to 1986, and Thomas Organ (guitar) from 1979 to 1988.
