Techniques Berlin is a new wave, synthpop, and minimal synth band formed in 1985 in St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada, by Andreas Gregor and Dave Rout. The band celebrated their 35th anniversary in 2020, performing only once that year due to the Covid-19 pandemic. They returned to the stage in Toronto in 2022 and are scheduled to perform at Gothic Pogo in Leipzig in May 2024. Techniques Berlin will celebrate their 40th anniversary in 2025. The current lineup consists of Dave Rout on synthesizers, drum machines, and lyrics, and Andreas Gregor on vocals, synthesizers, and drum machines. Previous members include Dan Bell (1985-1986), Desta Williams (1985), Dale Hanlin (1990-1992), Kris Helstrom (1989 & 1991), and Dina Naskos, who contributed vocals and synthesizers.
