Technotronic, founded in 1989, emerged from the innovative mind of Belgian producer Manu Bogaert. Known for his contributions to the "Eurobeat" genre, Bogaert initially released the track that would become "Pump Up The Jam" under an alias in 1989. Drawing inspiration from various musical influences, Technotronic featured samples that were later replaced by new vocals. The first public face of Technotronic was a fashion model known for her striking blue lips. It wasn't until the release of the second single, "Get Up," that vocalist Manuela Kamosi, also known as "AKA," was introduced to the audience. She had originally provided the vocals for "Pump Up The Jam" and showcased her talent in "Get Up." By the end of 1990, "Pump Up The Jam" had reached the top of the Billboard 12 singles dance chart. Kamosi also lent her voice to Bogaert's first album, "This Beat Is Technotronic." Following a brief collaboration on the single "Turn It Up" in 1990, Technotronic released their second album, "Body To Body," in 1991, which featured vocals by Kamosi and was available only in Europe. Their third album, "Recall," was released four years later and aligned with the Eurodance trends of the time, featuring Kamosi's return along with contributions from other vocalists.
