Ted Lucas was a prominent figure in the Detroit music scene during the 1960s and 1970s. He founded several groups, including the Spike-Drivers, the Misty Wizards, the Horny Toads, and the Boogie Disease. In addition to his work with these bands, Lucas played guitar, sitar, and harmonica on various Motown sessions, notably collaborating with Norman Whitfield and R. Dean Taylor. In 1975, he released a solo album that went largely unnoticed during his lifetime. Ted Lucas passed away on September 19, 1992, and his album was reissued in 2010.
