Ted Picou, born Theodore Picou on April 9, 1934, in Calexico, was a talented musician known as Ted or Deuce to his family and musical associates. He came from a rich musical heritage, being part of a long line of New Orleans musicians, including the notable early jazz clarinetist Alfonse Picou. Throughout his career, Picou performed alongside legendary artists such as Miles Davis, James Brown, and Stevie Wonder. He spent most of his life playing in San Diego, with a brief period in the 1960s when he performed in clubs in Los Angeles. Ted Picou passed away on March 26, 1988.
