Teddy Brown was an American musician, dancer, and songwriter born on March 21, 1954, in Toccoa, Georgia, USA. He was the son of a singer, Velma Warren, and formed his own group, Teddy Brown and the Torches, also known as the Teddy Brown Band. Tragically, Teddy's life was cut short when he died in an automobile accident on June 14, 1973, in Elizabethtown, New York, at the age of 19. He was a passenger in a car that struck a concrete bridge abutment. His funeral took place at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Toccoa, Georgia.
