Telegraph Avenue was a notable four-piece band from the Lima music scene, formed in mid-1969. They drew their name from a famous avenue in California and were known for their unique blend of psychedelic rock and Latin rhythms, highlighted by melodic vocals. The band consisted of members playing guitars, bass, and drums, all of whom contributed additional instruments on their recordings. From the outset, they focused on composing original songs. Before releasing their first album, Telegraph Avenue gained recognition by performing at various parties and events, including graduation celebrations and local clubs, even playing in an empty swimming pool at one point. Their popularity soared after a memorable concert at the University of Lima in November 1970, leading to frequent bookings throughout the year. In June 1971, they released their self-titled debut album (Repsychled CD 1006), which featured eight songs and achieved significant sales in Peru. During this time, they wrote over twenty songs, including "Feel," "Hello Misses Moon," and "People See Me Crying." However, by the end of the year, the band decided to take a break. In 1972, members Alex and Walo briefly formed a new band called Tarkus with two Argentine musicians, releasing a self-titled album before disbanding. They later created Ganímedes, which also dissolved without recording. In December 1972, Telegraph Avenue reunited to record two songs, "It’s OK" and "If the Sun Refuses
