Telex is a Belgian all-electronic disco pop band that was formed in 1978 by radio DJ and jazz musician Marc Moulin, programmer and sound engineer Dan Lacksman, and vocalist Michel Moers. The band gained popularity with their first three singles—"Twist A Saint Tropez," "Moskow Diskow," and "Rock Around The Clock"—which became hits in Europe. Several of their 12" records were also well-received in dance clubs, particularly in the USA. Between 1979 and 1988, Telex released five albums: "Looking For Saint Tropez," "Neurovision," "Sex," "Wonderful World," and "Looney Tunes." After a nearly 20-year hiatus, they released a series of remix albums and compilations, culminating in the 2006 album "How Do You Dance?" which featured newly recorded and previously unreleased material. During their hiatus, Marc Moulin produced various pop albums, served as one of the head programmers on French-speaking Belgian national radio, and pursued a career as an author and playwright until his passing from cancer on September 26, 2008. Dan Lacksman operates a studio complex in Brussels, while Michel Moers resides in Provence, France, where he works as a video director and photographer.
