Terakaft, meaning "caravan" in Tamasheq, is a desert rock band formed in 2001, featuring two former members of Tinariwen. The band is deeply influenced by the harsh conditions of the Sahara, which is reflected in their wild riffs and embodies the essence of desert blues. Their sound is characterized by a blend of two rhythm guitars—one maintaining the beat and the other delivering soaring melodies—along with deep bass tones that evoke the steady steps of a camel traversing the desert. The heavy, pulsating heartbeat of the percussion ties the music together, completing their unique sound.
