Teresa Teng, known as 鄧麗君 in Chinese, was a Taiwanese singer who gained immense popularity across East Asia and among Chinese communities worldwide. Born on January 29, 1953, she passed away on May 8, 1995, due to a severe asthma attack while traveling in Thailand. Her discography is divided into three distinct periods: from 1967 to 1971, she recorded mainly Taiwanese folk songs for Universe Records, focusing on TV series soundtracks. From 1971 to 1975, she worked with Lai Wing Music (Life) Records, primarily producing movie soundtracks. Finally, from 1975 until her passing in 1995, she recorded with Polygram and Taurus, releasing popular songs in Mandarin, Japanese, Cantonese, and English.
