Tewolde Redda is an Eritrean guitarist, composer, and band leader, born in 1941 in Asmara. He moved to Addis Abeba in 1969 to pursue a career in music, recording for labels such as Philips and Amha. Throughout his career, he released 7" records, either as a solo artist or by backing other musicians with his band. In the mid-1970s, he left Ethiopia due to the conflict in Eritrea, and in 1989, he relocated to the Netherlands, where he continues to reside today.
