Maurizio Martinucci, known as TeZ, is an Italian interdisciplinary artist and independent researcher based in Amsterdam. He has collaborated with notable figures such as Adi Newton, Scanner, Kim Cascone, Saverio Evangelista, Taylor Deupree, Sonia Cillari, Chris Salter, Honor Harger, Luca Spagnoletti, and Domenico Sciajno. TeZ explores perceptual effects and the interplay between sound, light, and space through technology. His work primarily focuses on generative compositions with spatialized sound for live performances and installations, employing custom-developed software and hardware. He utilizes original techniques of sonification and visualization to investigate subtle vibrational phenomena. Recently, his research has expanded to include the design of specific architectural structures and unconventional methods of sound and light propagation to enhance immersivity and multisensory perception. TeZ is also the founder of the ‘Optofonica’ platform for Synesthetic Art-Science in Amsterdam.
