The Ceyleib People were a short-lived psychedelic project formed in 1967 around session musicians Mike Deasy and Ry Cooder. Blending Eastern instrumentation, modal improvisation, and experimental studio techniques, they created a singular work of raga-rock exploration with their album *Tanyet*. Their music captures the late-1960s fascination with spiritual and sonic fusion, merging rock, jazz, and Indian influences into a hypnotic, meditative soundscape. Though their output was limited, The Ceyleib People’s innovative approach left a lasting mark on the era’s psychedelic underground.
