The Escorts were a Merseybeat band formed in October 1962 in Liverpool, England, by classmates Mike Gregory, Terry Sylvester, and John Kinrade. In 1963, they were voted the ninth most popular group in Liverpool by readers of Mersey Beat magazine. Their lineup included Terry Sylvester on guitar and lead vocals, John Kinrade on lead guitar and vocals, and Mike Gregory on bass guitar and vocals. The band released several singles, including "Dizzy, Miss Lizzy" and "The One to Cry," which reached No. 49 on the UK charts. Notably, Paul McCartney played tambourine on their 1966 single "From Head to Toe." Although they never released a full album during their active years, a compilation titled "From the Blue Angel" was released in 1983, featuring all twelve songs from their six singles.
