The Marvels were a UK-based reggae group active from 1962 to 1982. Originally from Jamaica, members Alex "Dimples" Hinds, Cornell "Ornell" Hinds, and Eddie Smith relocated to the UK, where they formed the band. Specializing in doo-wop harmonies, they achieved notable success with their cover of Aretha Franklin's "Rock Steady" in the early 1970s. Their collaboration with producer Dandy Livingstone further solidified their presence in the reggae scene. After disbanding, Dimples and his daughter Donna Hinds became DJs on London's reggae radio station RJR (98.3 FM).
