The 5.6.7.8's are a garage rock'n'roll band from Tokyo, Japan, formed in 1986 by sisters Sachiko (drums) and Yoshiko "Ronnie" Fujiyama (vocals), along with Rico (guitar) and Yoshie (bass). After Yoshie was replaced by Kikako before their demo recording, Rico and Kikako left in 1990 to form Sleaze Sisters. They were succeeded by Akiko Omo on bass, and saxophone player Gaku was added later. In 1992, the band became a trio before touring Australia, with Akiko taking over bass duties again. Guitarist Aya joined temporarily in 1995, and Yoshiko "Yama" Yamaguchi took over bass before their first major Japanese tour in 1996. Ronnie briefly left the band in 1997 to release a solo single, "Coney Island." The band toured extensively in 1998 and 2002 but did not produce new material during that time. The 5.6.7.8's gained international recognition when they appeared in Quentin Tarantino's film "Kill Bill: Volume 1" in 2003, featuring their track "Woo Hoo" in the film and on the soundtrack.
