The Afghan Whigs are a soul-influenced alternative/indie rock band from Cincinnati, Ohio, formed in 1986 by vocalist/guitarist Greg Dulli, guitarist Rick McCollum, bassist John Curley, and drummer Michael Horrigan. The band released six LPs, several singles, and EPs, and went through a couple of drummers before disbanding in February 2001. They briefly reformed in 2006 to record two new tracks for a best-of compilation. In December 2011, the core group of Dulli, McCollum, and Curley announced their reformation to perform at various concerts and festivals in 2012, with additional touring members joining them.
