The Aggrolites are a Los Angeles-based band formed in 2002, emerging from the fusion of two previous reggae and ska bands, the Vessels and another unnamed group. Initially created as a live backing band for a reggae icon, their recording sessions, although never released, inspired them to establish themselves as a permanent band. The Aggrolites have provided backing for various artists, including Scotty and members of Culture. The band's name is derived from the English slang term "agro," which is often associated with aggravation or aggression. In 2003, they released their debut album, "Dirty Reggae," through a local reggae label. The album was recorded in a single day at Signet Studios in Los Angeles, with each song captured in one take and many lyrics improvised on the spot. In December 2006, the Aggrolites toured the UK as the support band for another act. The lineup includes Jesse Wagner on vocals and lead guitar, Brian Dixon on rhythm guitar, Roger Rivas on piano and organ, and Jeff Roffredo on bass. Korey Horn rejoined as the drummer in late 2006, while Scott Abels was the drummer from 2005 to 2006. J Bonner played bass guitar from 2002 to 2007, and David Fuentes was the bassist in 2007 before his passing.
