With acclaimed albums like Seal Beach (2003) and In A Safe Place (2004), The Album Leaf has continued to gain influence, releasing additional full-lengths and collaborating with artists such as Bright Eyes and Mark Kozelek. The band's music has been featured in popular TV shows like Scandal, Sons of Anarchy, and Suits. In 2016, The Album Leaf released Between Waves, their sixth studio album and first
