The Allusions was an Australian quintet formed in late 1965 in Sydney, New South Wales. The band consisted of members from various accomplished Sydney groups and featured four singers. Their leader was a singer/guitarist/composer who had previously played with Dennis & The Dellawares. Another member had been the bassist in a popular instrumental group, while two other members were part of an early 1960s Sydney surf band. Terry Chapman, who was with the band from its inception, left in July 1966 shortly before the recording of their third single. He was replaced by a bassist who had worked with the leader in The Dellawares. Mike Morris, another key member, departed the band in late 1967 and was replaced as well. The Allusions continued as a four-piece until October 1968, when Terry Hearne left to join a backing band. Mike Morris rejoined to help raise funds for an overseas trip, but by this time, the band's early success had waned, and they disbanded in early 1969. One artist is noted as a vocalist and playing piano and organ, but his exact tenure with the band remains unclear. The lineup included: - (bass, vocals) 1965 - July 1966 - (bass, vocals) July 1966 - early 1969 - (lead guitar, vocals) 1965 - October 1968 - (drums) - (rhythm
